Foldable

This is a printed matter consisting of two or more pages folded in normal or special succession, with more or less regular patterns.

From a technical and design point of view, a dialogue right from the design stage with the dedicated department is essential to verify the industrialization of the pattern and make sure that the considerable mechanical stresses do not ruin the printed matter.

There is a wide variety of folds that can be made through automated lines:

  • Parallel folds: accordion, window, wrapped. These are obtained by making several folds parallel to each other, always on the same side.
  • Cross folds: obtained by folding the sheet two or more times with folds one perpendicular to the other.
  • Mixed folds: combination of cross and parallel folds.

Should the paper support have a weight of more than 170gr/sqm and to ensure an excellent quality result, it is advisable to proceed with creasing along the fold lines. It is also possible to crease the printed matter by means of in-line or interrupted perforations (T- or L-shaped).

If required, there is the possibility of applying labels, closure seals and, through a glue point, even single-serving sample sachets and cards.
